About this artwork
This painting with amethyst, and rose quartz came out of my trip to the Great Bear Rainforest on the west coast of Canada. I was there hoping to encounter the rare and elusive Spirit Bear, a black bear with a recessive gene resulting in a coloration anywhere from white to cafe au lait. Every morning at exactly the same hour, a very rare Stellar Sea lion would swim by in the narrow channel just below her window. It really looked like a bear swimming…
so for a couple of seconds every day she got so excited and then,"oh, its that darned sea lion". What an oversight to discount the presence of the endangered sea lion who was bringing his own magic to her. Sea lions help to focus and develop the imagination while also enriching dreamtime. Amethyst and rose quartz both open the heart chakra to bring more love, greater strength to intuition. The colour resonates to the higher heart chakra, magnifier of all things heart. Such gratitude do I feel for this beautiful Sea Lion!
