About this artwork
We all experience setbacks, difficult times, stress, and hopelessness. It is part of our human experience, and still, it can feel very overwhelming. This artwork is about finding the inner strength to get up in the morning after a big setback.
It’s about finding the strength to reach out for help and the little energy inside oneself to get out the door, not dwelling on the past anymore, and not ruminating about the future. It is about getting up… again and fully being in the present moment.
Perhaps the sun shines, perhaps somebody said hello or smiled at you, or perhaps you just enjoyed your breakfast ... that could be your jumping-up-again moment. Enjoy the vibes of it, take your first step again,... I see you!

My artwork is known for its abstract qualities, incorporating emotional movement, graffiti-style marks, and words to establish a ‘social ground’ within my paintings.
Through this process, I aim to question, challenge, and provoke established narratives and cultural hierarchies, particularly those surrounding equality and abuse; while inviting new perspectives and interpretations.
I have studied for almost 20 years at both the Academy of Art in Brugge & Mechelen, Belgium. I am classically trained and I master a wide range of painting and drawing techniques, from realistic work to expressive and experimental styles.
