It is during the fall period that I made this artwork.
The warm colors of autumn are everywhere and seem to relax in the bright late summer light. It feels like surrender knowing deep down that an energy is building up under that beautiful colored layer to soon emerge fresh green ...
But first, relax and enjoy the winter ...
This artwork is part of the Women with Wings series.
As a Belgium based artist, I am driven by a deep desire to nourish the… feminine. I am moved by women who are so brave to go into the arena each day and unchain their voices to speak up and touched by those who are not yet there. Through my work, I encourage women to show their true colors and to fly high with the wings they were given. By the same means, my work challenges men to dare to use their feminine qualities, contemporary society so dearly is in need of.

My artwork is known for its abstract qualities, incorporating emotional movement, graffiti-style marks, and words to establish a ‘social ground’ within my paintings.
Through this process, I aim to question, challenge, and provoke established narratives and cultural hierarchies, particularly those surrounding equality and abuse; while inviting new perspectives and interpretations.
I have studied for almost 20 years at both the Academy of Art in Brugge & Mechelen, Belgium. I am classically trained and I master a wide range of painting and drawing techniques, from realistic work to expressive and experimental styles.
