In this series of paintings, I do a tight pencil sketch of what I want to create. I then, scan the sketch in the computer and I colorize the sketch. Every step is meticulously done. Now, I am ready to make the painting. I touch on a couple of style, putting together a cohesive theme. The background is first applied in a loose Expressionist style. Once the background is to the degree I want it to be, I apply the line drawing on the support. Next,… I render the characters in the piece. The process takes a while, but I want to make the piece good enough that I would want to buy it myself. I love to apply lots of color with expressive paint strokes, when working on my pieces. I am inspired with Leonardo da Vinci paintings and how he leads the viewer into his work. I also use triangles in the my composition , as did Leonardo, to lead the viewer through my pieces.
Bathed in his childhood attraction to art, using pastels, he now primarily uses acrylics. Combining Expressionism and Surrealism, he loves passionate brush strokes and the emotional usage of color. His work, brimming with imperfections, reflects his struggles and mental tribulations, translating therapeutic relief into an intimate, imperfectly perfect spectacle.
