About this artwork
Traces of our daily life are deposited on the city walls: writings and old worn-out images testify to our present. On the panel you can see an acrobat intent in performing his exercise: the difficulty of the athletic gesture, the effort of the moment, masks behind the elegance and the smile of the circus. Metaphor of the post-pandemic period we are experiencing.

« I use every sign that can describe this fleeting present of which we have already forgotten. »
Carlo Inglese is an Italian artist whose paintings have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. He describes his artistic expression as being based on the observations of our social fabric, arising from the need to "testify what we live" and representing contemporary society. Inglese gathers old posters, ephemeral objects, and any element that captures our time, or arouses a memory or an emotion, and then applies them onto canvas, metal, or wood.
