About this artwork
Work done in New York in 2017.
Blanco's painting has been transformed in recent years from a new figuration, to a more expressive, gestural painting, where the figurative element remains, but more blurred. Knowing George Condo's work in New York was undoubtedly one of the starting points of his current project, as well as seeing the works of Cy Twombly.
Carlos Blanco Artero (Madrid 1983) has exhibited in Museums, Galleries and Institutions… in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Hong Kong, Paris, Zaragoza, Barcelona or Madrid, and his works are in public and private collections in New York, Japan, Singapore, Mexico, Los Angeles, Miami, Austria, Madrid, Bilbao, Mallorca, Santander, Australia, Lybia, New Zealand, Illinois, Wisconsin, Paris and London.

« My main line of work focuses on the human figure, more specifically on the face and its deformation. »
Carlos Blanco Artero is a prize-winning Spanish artist whose works have been extensively exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States, Australia, and the Philippines. He is inspired by the human body and everyday life scenes. Through the deformation of the figure, Artero offers a complex glimpse into his childhood, the parts of his characters resembling pieces of a puzzle.
