I worked on canvas applying coconut fiber paper, natural pigments and inks.
The plant material created a living, porous surface, where the fish's mark slowly emerged, like a primordial imprint resurfacing from the depths.

Carmen Viro is a Sicilian artist who uses rice paper, plant fibers, natural pigments, and papier-mâché, enriched by extensive experience in decoration and restoration. Her research is expressed through material techniques and instinctive gestures, in a contemporary, organic style that intertwines roots, signs, and natural symbols. Her works convey an intense meditation on fragility and rebirth, allowing us to sense the breath of nature and a profound connection to the earth, inviting the viewer to rediscover their own original presence.
