About this artwork
Like a wave crystallized in the moment of her dance, Calypso emerges from myth to become an ethereal presence. The nymph who inhabited the island of Ogygia, trapped between desire and solitude, here dissolves and recomposes herself in an impossible balance between solidity and emptiness.
The lattice structure evokes sea foam rising in arabesques of air, capturing the light like pearls of water. The intense blue recalls the depths of the sea and… the infinite sky. A presence on the threshold between the elements, light as the wind on the sea.
