« I am an all year round swimmer, and when I dive into the ocean, turn and look up through the surface to the sky, the floating particles of organic matter, are the inspiration behind my paintings. »
Canadian artist Carol Bruton's abstract works are inspired by her childhood memories of the Mediterranean sun, hot angles reflecting off the marine environment under a peacock blue sky. Drawn to the eternal, hanging patterns of the natural elements and planetary cycles her abstract pieces reflect the tranquil surface of the sea.
Utilizing a strong and vibrant color palette reminiscent of their tropical setting, each canvas is composed of intricate brush strokes which culminate in a pure, counterbalanced shape. Salt crystals, cellular life or coral threads it is up to the viewer to draw their own conclusion.
Carol has exhibited her artworks internationally.
