About this artwork
Carole Bressan paints landscapes ... the landscape, as a field of observation: emotional territory, need and necessity: a place of musicality appropriate to an intimate and spontaneous writing.
Made almost entirely flat, Carole Bressan's paintings are dependent on multiple stages of drying. The paintings are pre-coated, then the artist navigates on and between the asperities and the reliefs in flat, or with the knife, and with the help of particular… colored juices which offer many possibilities of transparencies, effects of filters and of superposition .
"" To meet "a landscape is to make oneself resonate, memories, affects and dreams, it is to offer the possibility of vast plans of connection."

« The expression of a state of mind, more than the elaboration of a space. »
Carole Bressan is a prize-winning French artist whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in Japan, and Spain. She approaches the landscape in all that it represents, going beyond aesthetics. For Bressan, the landscape is an "emotional territory", an echo of a feeling, a state of mind, a means of portraying the full range of emotions. Her vibrant and expressive compositions are created using acrylics, watercolors, graphite, and collage on canvas or wood.
