About this artwork
Splash is the last work in the Nordic Feeling series that the artist created. Most of this series was created during a 2 month artist residency in Frøstrup, North Jutland, Denmark. Splash was created a good six months later back in Switzerland, so the idea was retrospective. Kohler attended the arts and crafts school, needs from this environment to teach sports, and yet did not get rid of the art. Today, sports and nature provide her with an important source of inspiration for her abstract paintings, in which hidden figurative elements of space stimulate the imagination of the beholder.
