About this artwork
Through her artwork the artist wants to transfer the joyful and vital energies she perceived while painting outside, at the Italian Riviera.
Peacocks are symbolizing positive feelings like love, happiness and lightness. In this expressive composition the bird seems to melt in an oragnic way with the background.
The choice of colours is inspired by german expressionist paintings from artists like Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Franz Marc. The artist has… been growing up in Munich and Berlin, both cities are very important for the story of german expressionism.
The motiv of the peacock indeed is a really "Indian" one: it is the national symbol of India, where the painter has been living fin 2004 and 2005.
So even if this painting was created in an intuive way, always focussed on the creative process, it reveals important influences of the artist's life.
This artwork was exhibited in Carolin's Solo Show at Torre Gropallo, Genoa, Italy 2019.

« My art is a mirror: what you discover today will maybe it won’t be the same thing that you’ll recognize tomorrow. And so the paintings speak about you too. »
Carolin Goedeke is an artist and musician based in Italy who has exhibited her works nationally, as well as in Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, and India. Her daily observation of waves off the Italian Rivera Coast, as well as clarinet improvisation, inspires her artistic process.
