About this artwork
Object, Unidentified explores the point at which abstract form begins to suggest something recognisable without ever becoming fully known. Stacked and intersecting shapes create a structure that feels at once object-like, architectural and symbolic, while resisting a fixed identity.
Layers of translucent red-brown pigment reveal subtle shifts in tone, brushwork and density against a softly painted pink-ochre ground. Openings interrupt the form, allowing… the pale ground to move through the structure and become an active part of the composition.
Restrained in both colour and form, the work leaves its subject deliberately unresolved, allowing recognition to remain uncertain and the viewer to encounter the shape on their own terms.
