About this artwork
This work on handmade Japanese cotton paper, joins the series of "Growing Things", an expression borrowed from JRR Tolkien, a great lover of nature, of the contrasts offered by its multiple forms, both in its splendor and in its tiny details. Here through an imaginary composition of Oxalis, is expressed in the form of a "herbarium", the opposition between the intertwined structures of the stems worked in Indian ink, and the lightness of the fluttering…
leaves in the ranges of greens, gray blues and purples. Handcrafted paper, with its light and soft feel, woven, a little rustic, is associated with the subject by its very natural cotton material. Observation of nature and its multiple expressions opens for me each time a window on hope, optimism and the strength of life, when the world is reduced to four walls, both real and pictorial. , loneliness, or sometimes discouragement in the face of a civilization in loss of meaning.

Caroline K-Dussaux is an established French painter whose works have been exhibited in solo and group shows nationally. She combines her love for art and classical music in painting abstract works full of musicality by using colors and lines like chords and melodies. Inspired by the flower power movement of the 60s and 70s, she also defines her artistic style in cheerful colors that pop, bringing a vibrant canvas to life.
