About this artwork
Two figures find themselves in a black room. To judge by their clothing they are either politicians or businessmen. It's hard to tell if they are concerned at all by the piled cheeseburgers atop their heads, pinned down by a wooden crucifx each, for they are already dead. But still they move, act, desire. Is there any point to their movements other than to distract them from said possible absence? Is there a space more prone to madness than that…
where politics, money and religion meet?

« I paint because it hurts less than not painting. »
Carp Matthew is an artist based in the United Kingdom whose paintings have been exhibited in England. He describes his works as, "looking for sense where there is none". Most humans inevitably question the meaning of life. Matthews is not convinced by established suggestions, however, he is fascinated by the various ways people come to their own conclusions regarding this matter. His distinctive compositions are created using acrylics, oils, and pastels on canvas.
