Painted during the summer of 2018, Casper was trying to create a work with a great sense of atmosphere. The work combines figurative elements alongside pure painterly imagination.
The tree is a Joshua tree, named after the Old Testament prophet Joshua by a group of Mormon settlers crossing the… Mojave desert who used the tree a as a guide. The tree still functions as a symbol of hope.
