About this artwork
This painting is part of a new series for 2021 entitled Uncharted..although it is still ongoing and in development, Uncharted is the result of the 2020 year of personal and artistic exploration. The purpose of this series is the exploration of things unknown as of yet. This is done both in personal meditation and within the process of creating the work by allowing the process to take over, accepting and adapting to change as it comes…working well…
with happy accidents. Lava is angry, wild, and flows where gravity takes it. It changes form as temperatures change…it explodes into black sand as it reaches the sea. It is an accurate and interesting representation of nature's violence and beauty. It is unpredictable..and charts its own territory.
