About this artwork
I like how I get to bring the fantastical, warm days of childhood vacations with me into my future. Although I'm not one to be overly sentimental, it's a feeling of freedom, adventure, warmth, and connectivity with nature which I want to bring with me into my Uncharted future. That calm, energetic and carefree feeling of discovery, sweat, and exhaustion on hot summer days. This painting, in particular, reminds me of the t-shirts we used to get on…
vacation in the early eighties...all 'earth girl' tones and woodsy with touches of mustard and pink. Very sunkissed.
