About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture gentle melancholy and quiet contemplation through the expressive use of acrylic and felt-tip pen. The deep blue hue evokes a sense of calm and infinity, while the silhouette of a cat, facing a bright moon, symbolizes solitude and introspection. The raindrops add a dimension of renewal and hope, inviting contemplation and appreciation of enriching moments of solitude.
« Through my work, I wonder about the mystery of artistic creation and the destiny of the living. »
Catherine Hoang is a painter and sculptor based in France whose works have been exhibited both nationally and in Japan. Her works are marked by human pathological anatomy, the sublime, the trivial, and the ephemeral nature of the human condition. Through her art, Hoang explores themes related to survival and life "in a constantly evolving universe." Her artistic approach is figurative or translates an allusive abstraction.
