This sculpture is part of a series of other works from my solo exhibition in LATINA and subsequently in Livorno, under the name IBRIDA, which represent a fusion between man and animals, that is, the living and the machine understood as positive technology.
A humorous work that sparks sympathy. The title is a clear reference to an animal that is inherently slow, but which equips itself with mechanical devices to overcome this physical defect.
This… sculpture expresses the tension between complexity and harmony. I used acrylic and recycled materials to create a dynamic and ingenious form, like a vital engine pulsating with energy beneath a steel mesh. The work invites reflection on the fragile balance between technology and nature, conveying a vibrant energy that captures the eye and fills the space with movement.
Marco Cavalieri, a steel sculptor and painter, boasts a rich artistic background spanning graphic design, illustration, and architecture. He employs techniques ranging from crude expressionism in sculpture—weaving steel with materials such as plastic, rubber, and mechanical parts—to dreamlike and ironic symbolism in painting. His style evokes fantastical and intimate worlds, materializing human emotions, fears, and paranoia, inviting the viewer to ironically reflect themselves in his works.
