About this artwork
In Fragments of Us, I explore the emotional aftermath of conflict—whether internal, interpersonal, or collective. Layers of color and fractured lines evoke the way we’re altered, splintered, and left with only pieces of our former selves. Regardless of time, place, or cause, the residue of conflict lingers. This painting holds space for those fragments—raw, disjointed, and deeply human.

Cécile Roberfroid is a French-American painter with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and master’s degrees in Art Therapy from Columbia University and NYU.
