In this work, I explored the fragile balance between abstraction and semi-abstraction, capturing the emotional essence through raw materials: collage, pencil, Indian ink. Spontaneous elements meet fragments of everyday life, inviting introspective reflection. The underlying energy is a dialogue with the viewer, a vibration that will enliven the space with its intriguing and poetic presence.
Chantal Cartier is a painter born in Le Mans into a family of musicians.
For more than 30 years, she has dedicated her life to painting, an art that allows her to "write" emotions and perceptions deeply rooted within her.
Alongside painting, she also works with ink, collage and photography, three disciplines which complement her research work.
Today, it is in her studio located in Charente-Maritime that she continues her artistic approach, immersed in a setting that inspires calm and reflection.
The meaning of her work, of her research, is nourished by what she experiences and what she sees....
She attempts to capture a certain essential in an instant, oscillating between abstraction and figuration, using matter and form.
"I am not looking for an "explanatory" painting, but a painting of feeling, of emotion."
