About this artwork
This imaginary face, with its determined Gavroche-like air, "Expression 26," on a square canvas (30x30cm), 4.5cm thick, is my first work of 2026. I began it on January 1st, hence the title. Starting with a free and abstract approach using light colors, vibrant splashes, and irregular, intentionally blurred shapes, I traced a figure with expressive, clear features in black India ink on a wet or dry background.
