About this artwork
I painted Quiet Drift as a response to slow movement rather than force. I was thinking about water beneath the surface — the way it circulates, folds back on itself, and carries light quietly without spectacle.
I built this piece through layered blues, letting curved marks rise and sink into the surface. The raised lines act like traces of movement, not waves themselves but the memory of them. I work intuitively here, allowing the paint to guide… the rhythm instead of imposing structure.
This painting belongs to my ongoing exploration of calm, depth, and the subtle energy that exists in stillness — where movement is present, but unannounced.
