About this artwork
In this piece, I have embraced a more contemplative and humble approach, seeking to capture the quiet vulnerability of a landscape at rest. Through the patient application of multiple glazes, I worked to create a sense of three-dimensional depth that feels like a soft, internal pulse rather than a flat surface. This work is a meditation on the fleeting moments of stillness we often overlook—the heavy, humid air of a late evening and the gentle blurring… of boundaries where the earth meets the sky. It represents a significant shift in my practice toward "Warm Minimalism," where I prioritize the emotional presence of the human hand and the sincerity of a simple, resonant composition. I hope this painting offers a sanctuary for the viewer, inviting a slow, soulful connection with the expansive peace of the natural world.
My work is a continual search for light — not only the light we see, but the light we feel. Over time, my paintings have moved from the tighter, more structured handling of my earlier figurative work toward something looser and more atmospheric — softer edges, layered colour, and a greater focus on mood and light than on fine detail. Each collection has been a step in that journey. I am drawn to those fleeting moments where darkness gives way — the glow beyond a storm, the last warmth of a fading sky, the quiet energy held within colour itself. Through layers, texture, and transparency, I chase that fragile meeting place between shadow and illumination. Each painting leads me a little closer to capturing not just a scene, but its atmosphere, memory and light.
