About this artwork
This is a painting of a bald eagle, which is one of our most well-known national symbols. Its range includes most of Canada and Alaska, all of the contiguous United States, and northern Mexico. This scene is in Colorado. The eagle is an opportunistic feeder which subsists mainly on fish, which it swoops down upon and snatches from the water with its talons, as it can be seen doing here.
