About this artwork
This is an oil painting that is based on an experience I had while traveling with a friend to West Palm Beach. As we drove along, we encountered a monster thunderstorm that sent massive bolts of lightning all around as right before it began to rain. It actually hit trees and caught them on fire before our eyes, and I was as scared as I have ever been in my life. I thought about the effects of climate change and the monster storms to come in the future,…
so I painted this storm with a demon face in the clouds that is feeding off the truck"s exhaust. This happened in 1995, and many of the storms that I feared have since come to pass.
