About this artwork
This is a still life painting. I started painting still life, hoping to be able to just paint things, not stories or meanings, but pretty soon I realised that still life is really all about death. It used to give me the heeby-jeebies, sometimes, painting and thinking about the end. I like the paintings though - I loved the fun of thinking up objects and trying to find a way of painting them.
