About this artwork
This was worked up in the studio from a number of field studies and photographs. There is a large park near where I live and where I often walk.
There are a number of places where blubells proliferate, and this spot is on the edge of a fairly dense wooded area-maybe elves once lived there......
Charlie Burman is a painter with a background in fine art, theatre design, and scenic artistry for film and television, drawing on his experience in immersive, collaborative environments. He employs wet-on-wet washes and plein air techniques, merging impressionist influences with expressive, figurative work that can flirt with abstraction. His paintings channel a vivid immediacy and authenticity, evoking a heartfelt response to the mood, light, and rhythm of the landscapes that move him.
