About this artwork
'Blinding Light' shows the artist trying to capture herself. The light is literally blinding, creating intense contrasting colours. But also metaphorically, the artist looks to paint exactly who she is but is blinded by whatever is in the way. The painting looks at the arguably impossible nature of capturing something/someone in its truest form, as well as the idea that one's identity is formed through the eyes of others. The true self is often unknown
