About this artwork
In creating this piece, I channeled my deep fascination with nature's vastness and the serenity of water. The use of watercolors allowed me to blend hues seamlessly, capturing the essence of an expansive shoreline kissed by a brooding sky. The semi-abstract approach bridges fine art and expressionism, while geometric undertones hint at the unseen structures within. This artwork embodies a tranquil yet dynamic energy, perfect for inviting contemplation…
and calm into any space.

« I paint for the sheer joy of working with colours, reaching through the minimum to achieve tranquility. »
Chris Malcomson is an established British painter based in the US who has exhibited his work internationally. He is heavily influenced by Jungian and Transpersonal psychology, the poet Rumi, and icons, which are reflected in his artistic studies of inner landscapes. Each of his paintings showcases spatial balance and harmony, as well as layered colours and pure geometric forms that immerse the viewer in a rich visual realm. Malcomson ultimately seeks to remind us of the mythological resonance present in our daily lives, and of the psychological and cultural depth that lies beyond what we typically see.
