About this artwork
In this watercolor piece, I poured my fascination with the interplay of light and shadow onto paper, creating a composition that's both realistic and symbolic. The remnants of a pier reaching into the depths speak to resilience amidst the ebb and flow of life. It's a marriage of tranquility and introspection that I hope will infuse any space with a calming, yet thought-provoking energy.

« I paint for the sheer joy of working with colours, reaching through the minimum to achieve tranquility. »
Chris Malcomson is an established British painter based in the US who has exhibited his work internationally. He is heavily influenced by Jungian and Transpersonal psychology, the poet Rumi, and icons, which are reflected in his artistic studies of inner landscapes. Each of his paintings showcases spatial balance and harmony, as well as layered colours and pure geometric forms that immerse the viewer in a rich visual realm. Malcomson ultimately seeks to remind us of the mythological resonance present in our daily lives, and of the psychological and cultural depth that lies beyond what we typically see.
