About this artwork
In this watercolor, I've channeled tranquility and reflection, marrying fine art with realism to capture the quiet surrender of a dilapidated pier. Symbolic in nature, it whispers stories of time's relentless march and nature's reclaiming touch. With each brushstroke on paper, I aimed to evoke contemplation and the serene beauty found in decay. It's an offering of calm energy to adorn any space.

« I paint for the sheer joy of working with colours, reaching through the minimum to achieve tranquility. »
Chris Malcomson is an established British painter based in the US who has exhibited his work internationally. He is heavily influenced by Jungian and Transpersonal psychology, the poet Rumi, and icons, which are reflected in his artistic studies of inner landscapes. Each of his paintings showcases spatial balance and harmony, as well as layered colours and pure geometric forms that immerse the viewer in a rich visual realm. Malcomson ultimately seeks to remind us of the mythological resonance present in our daily lives, and of the psychological and cultural depth that lies beyond what we typically see.
