About this artwork
He started this life painting with the intention of setting the life model into a beach setting. As the painting progressed he began to apply paint in an abstract fashion, scraping back in some areas, and adding colour until only the models face was visible. The final painting is a pleasing abstract with only a hint of the model that lies beneath.
