The nineteenth in the Bussow abstract series. Acrylic on canvas black and red as primary colours and yellow, green and violet as secondary colours. In an effort to move away from the curved lines that had come to dominate the previous paintings in the series, the colours were added in a random fashion and the suggestion of figures against a sunset appeared. Despite subsequent overpainting the image kept reappearing so I just went with it in the end.…
You could say that this painting is more expressive landscape than abstract.
