About this artwork
He constructed this painting from life class drawings set into a “Cornish” landscape. The figures were then squared off with multi coloured squares following the tonal value of the underlying nude painting. Painted using oil on canvas glued onto an MDF board. This painting is a continuation of the theme of checkers and squares in figurative works.
