Born in 1958 in Bên Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a French-Vietnamese artist whose work is distinguished by a unique fusion of Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a very young age, he was fascinated by the rural architecture of his surroundings, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadows cast by water palms—all… elements that would become the basis of his visual language.
Having always lived in his native region, Nguyen Robert has developed, over the decades, a profoundly contemporary, modern, and resolutely architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while retaining a poetic sensibility characteristic of Vietnamese culture.
His dual Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach.........
