About this artwork
This series deals with the phenomenon of light in photography and how light and shadow are reflected on photographic material. First, I used one of the oldest photographic techniques, the photogram, which I briefly illuminated with a flash in random arrangements, allowing light and shadow to form random shapes and shades on the paper. I then rearranged the differently exposed pieces of paper and again illuminated them with a flash, but this time…
I took a picture with a digital camera. Thus, in this work, several layers of light and photographic techniques overlap, creating forms that sometimes merge abstractly into one another, while at other times standing out concretely as a shape on the paper.
