About this artwork
I created this work as a refined tribute to the disruptive force of language, capable of redefining and shaping visual space. The grid of characters, which envelops the three-dimensional shape of the cube, reveals a symbolic universe in which each sign dialogues with the others, composing a code that is still hidden. Each side of the structure holds a fragment of meaning and, as a whole, the work suggests a broader knowledge, almost an encrypted…
message waiting to be interpreted.
Taken together, these elements synthesize an invitation to reflect on who we are, how we communicate and interpret the world. The work, in its interweaving of signs and meanings, welcomes and reveals the complexity of the human soul, oscillating between the need for order and the constant impulse towards the inexhaustible unknown.

CHRIZ (Christian Z) is an Italian artist whose research explores the relationship between language, identity, and form. He begins not with the image, but with what comes first: the letter as an originary act and matrix of meaning. He uses individual typographic characters, applied and layered by hand on metal panels, to construct bodies and faces that emerge from the blackness of silence.
The text is not read: it is passed through.
The letters become visual DNA, generative material from which the human figure takes shape, never idealized but alive, fragile, in transformation.
His practice stands apart from traditional text-based art, positioning itself between contemporary figuration and conceptual research in a hyper-digital culture.
He works where words become images.
