About this artwork
My wall sculpture DEVOTION is a piece of great visual and symbolic richness. It evokes a form of ritual or offering, with this accumulation of materials and textures that seem to tell a sacred, almost mystical story.
The interlacing of threads, wools, and fabrics creates an almost organic textile dimension, and the combination of iron and silver leaf adds a precious and spiritual touch. The hanging elements evoke rosaries, talismans, or votive… objects, reinforcing the connection with the title DEVOTION.
The baroque aspect of the whole, with its contrasts between black, red, gold and silver, also brings to mind the ornaments of a church or an altar, while the butterflies can symbolize transformation and elevation.
It is a powerful work, charged with emotion and symbols, which challenges and invites contemplation.

Christiane Guerry is a French sculptor and painter, born in 1948 in Grenoble into a family of artists with a tenor father and a painter uncle.
These works have been exhibited and presented in permanent collections in France, Denmark, Germany and the United Arab Emirates.
Numerous prizes and awards mark her career since 1968, when she began exhibiting.
Numerous auctions to benefit:
- Children with disabilities in Grenoble in September 1987
- For the benefit of Jewish children in 1998
- For the benefit of children around the world via the Rotary Club of Sophia Antipolis 2007
- For the benefit of the Norman Edmunds and Jymmy Edmunds Association for Autistic Children
