About this artwork
We had a very large ginger Tom called Pinky who, when fully stretched, was about two foot long. But when he went to sleep, he managed to curl up into a very neat ball.
This is a bronze cold-cast (which is process where powdered bronze is mixed with resin, to create an authentic bronze finish) the sculpture is then finished with copper sulphate to give an aged verdigris patina.
All of my sculptures are made from start to finish by me in my studio.… This is from the conception, the sculpting, the mould making, the casting, the finish the patina and even the carriage.

Christine A Baxter is a sculptor trained in traditional figurative techniques, working primarily with clay, plaster, wax, and casting into bronze, resin, plastic, or stone. She draws either directly from life or from the depths of her imagination, channeling hundreds of hours of keen observation; her process remains hands-on, ensuring each studio edition is uniquely finished. Her evocative, representational sculptures are vehicles for exploring the viewer’s emotional response, communicating subtle shifts in human expression and body language that stir a heartfelt, visceral reaction.
