About this artwork
My work with the figure has been ongoing and is related to my interest in the qualities of figurative movement and the idea that there is a shared "sense" that we all have as we move through space that creates a "felt' or identifiable rhythm that is uniquely shared by all of us as humans.
I start each work, in concert with a live model , working towards understanding and expressing that movement through paint and am ideally working towards a more… abstract language in paint to communicate our common experience.
Each work is done directly from a live model, alla prima, and is at once improvisational and reactive .
