About this artwork
In this painting, I captured the serene clarity of an untouched mountain landscape with my pastels. The lake lies calmly before the dark conifers, its water so transparent and pure that even the stones on the shore and a piece of driftwood are gently visible. The surface reflects the majestic mountains, whose lightly snow-covered peaks rise silently in the clear air.
The colors remain understated and natural; nothing appears garish or loud—only… harmonious shades of green, cool blues, and the soft light of a clear day. The scene invites one to take a deep breath, as if nature itself were bestowing a moment of purity.
The image is kept close to reality, so that the viewer immediately recognizes the landscape, yet the painterly quality remains palpable: the subtle transitions of the pastel chalk, the delicate structure, the quiet depth.
