About this artwork
In this painting I combine impressionistic and realistic features in my pastel painting to capture the magic and lively flair of the foggy city of Passau. The view from the Inn to the top of the three-river city in southeast Germany is unique.
With the pastel chalk colors, I bring the cool, glittering water surface of the Inn to life, while soft light illuminates the colorful architecture. The icy cold of the winter scenery stands in fascinating… contrast to the warm colors of the buildings depicted.
This work of art exudes a calming, almost dreamy atmosphere.
The painting is delivered without a frame, but should be fitted with a passepartout and glass frame as quickly as possible to protect the delicate pastel chalk.
Christine Schuldhaus, a talented painter and illustrator, primarily uses pastel, acrylic and watercolor painting. Her unique artistic approach allows her to combine painting with drawing and to constantly improve her technique. In doing so, she manages an astonishing balancing act between the clarity of reality and the playfulness of the abstract. Her works convey emotions, messages and hidden thoughts - so rich that they can often contain more content than an entire book.
