About this artwork
a hot summer day, scorching heat outside, comfortably warm in the shade inside. The joy of life is evident. The painting material, ocher from France (half sand, half pigment), is ideal for this purpose. The spectrum of this ocher sand extends from yellowish to dark brown, almost black. The colors vary depending on how it is treated. If you slurry the earth, it appears yellowish; if you apply it half-dry and pasty, it becomes darker and darker.
