About this artwork
The oil paint is incorporated directly into the liquid special wax during shaping. A subsequent coating of the robust synthetic wax body with iron and copper particles creates a natural patina over time. Under repeated exposure to very high heat, the rusted iron layer and patinated copper layer partially melts away and the wax body underneath is revealed. The synthetic… wax only melts at around 200 degrees and stops the further oxidation process and permanently preserves the condition of the unusual, organic surface of this free-standing sculpture. The base is made of chrome-plated steel and brushed aluminum.
Signed with the initials cR in the wax body.

« My rather unconventional technique arises from the intention to let the change of the material to the work flow freely. »
The free use of one's own resources is the fundamental creative disposition in Robausch's work.
His techniques and use of materials are also peculiar.
Standing outside the traditional art world, Robausch goes and thinks in an open and unsupported way.
Sculptures, wall objects and relief-like panel paintings are created entirely from within the individual.
Robausch also likes to rework his own works from earlier times, deforming and retuning them.
The translation of the mood of his physical works into digital, animated works sometimes seems strangely alien.
Currently, his original, very material-oriented working method is unfolding again with the "Future Origin" series.
The unpredictable immediacy seems to shine through these enigmatic, relief-like panel paintings.
