About this artwork
Wood painted with Indian ink, synthetic wax coat mixed with oil paint, covering of canvas painted with Indian ink, iron layer with rusting, charring in places from fire, clear varnish
26x26x26cm
2002 - 2022
Originally, this sculpture was only made of wood, painted with ink, but has been fundamentally revised several times in the last 20 years. The work grew in volume and history with each revision. The… final use of fire once again penetrated the hidden layers and raised the past again. The extraordinary elemental depth of the appearance is permanently preserved through multiple sealing with clear varnish.
The sculpture is signed twice and weighs approx. 4 kg.

« My rather unconventional technique arises from the intention to let the change of the material to the work flow freely. »
The free use of one's own resources is the fundamental creative disposition in Robausch's work.
His techniques and use of materials are also peculiar.
Standing outside the traditional art world, Robausch goes and thinks in an open and unsupported way.
Sculptures, wall objects and relief-like panel paintings are created entirely from within the individual.
Robausch also likes to rework his own works from earlier times, deforming and retuning them.
The translation of the mood of his physical works into digital, animated works sometimes seems strangely alien.
Currently, his original, very material-oriented working method is unfolding again with the "Future Origin" series.
The unpredictable immediacy seems to shine through these enigmatic, relief-like panel paintings.
