The depiction shows a person who appears to be doing several things at the same time. As a multitasker, however, he appears to be overwhelmed. External influences that correspond to a compulsive character are also depicted.
The work is a painted collage - on a colored abstract background - pieces of paper accentuate the work in certain areas. The coloring in the representational area is partly derived from the underlying basic color relief.

Christoph Rothwangl is an Austrian artist whose painted collages have been exhibited nationwide. His style is characterized by intense colors and abstract forms. Rothwangl's art reflects the hectic pace of society by creating a new, deconstructed reality that evokes emotions that are as bizarre and subtle as they are intense. His focus is on people, bodies, and faces – always somewhat quirky, biting, humorous, subtle, or satirical. He picks out elements and uses them to construct new themes and content – pieces are moved around to appear in new contexts. Sometimes, this reveals a rather dark, mysterious world. One thing, however, remains constant: everything is very intense.
Most recently nominated here for the Singulart Prize 2024 on the theme “Deeply human”.
