About this artwork
The theme of Engel’s series "Transformations" captures moments of change, those seen and unseen, from inside and outside. Whether it is the experience of a child in a museum for the first time, finding a kinship with the art, as portrayed in his work “Mo Ma,” or it is an assortment of elements, shifting and developing patterns from sounds and shapes of nature, capturing the beginning of written language with calligraphic lines in his abstract works…
including “Air,” “Fire,” and “Water” - all his works echo the concept, “we are all in a state of constant change, and the world around us is changing and moving and revolving in new and different cycles.”
