About this artwork
As a counterpart to the blue paintings, I wanted to use yellow. Here, the background is yellow and green, further abstracting the association with the landscape. Yellow ultimately serves as a foreground to blue, which tends to disappear into the distance. This creates tension in the space, as well as a new hierarchy of foreground and background.
